The dog day of summer is here: it’s National Dog Day!
National Dog Day encourages recognition of the value and importance that dogs have in their owners’ lives and honors dogs for all they do for us. National Dog Day is also an opportunity to publicize the plight of homeless and abused dogs. The National Dog Day Foundation has a stated goal of rescuing 10,000 dogs each year.
