International Talk Like a Pirate Day has been arrrrround since 1995 when two wannabe pirates, John Baur and Mark Summers, starrrrrted talking to each other in pirate-speak after a racquetball game. (Don’t worry, I’m sure it was a very swashbuckling racquetball game.) This was in June, but they chose September 19 in honor of Summers’ wife’s birthday.
