Veni, vidi, vici, let’s celebrate Julius Caesar’s birthday! A little Latin seems appropriate … but we wonder if people who can read the dead Latin language today have too much time on their hands, so, as our first funny t-shirt advises: “If you can read Latin, GET A LIFE!”
July 12, 100 B.C., Julius Caesar was born, in what was reputedly the first recorded Caesarian section in history; hence the name: Caesarian section. No one is sure, however, if he really had anything to do with Caesar salad.

The Only Good Language Is a Dead Language by iheart_hippogriffs
Here is another for you from the revered Caesar himself.;”Alea iacta est” which translated into English means; “the Dice is cast”. It was uttered at the Rubicon River in 49 BC before his legions marched on Rome and Pompey. Is latin a dead language?.I thought it was spoken by priests and lawyers?.
A lot of Latin is still used in certain professions, but it is not a living language. A living language is one spoken by parents to their babies. Because there is no people group that uses Latin as their day-to-day conversational language, where it would naturally change over time, it is static or dead.
