We like art, and we like funky art, and we like making funky tennis shoes with funky artwork. Here’s a funky artsy Keds shoe from The ARTery, where LOL Teez puts fine art on your feet.
The art on this shoe is by artist Adolf Wolfli, who lived a great deal of his life in an psychiatric hospital. One of his doctors, who watched Wolfli create his brilliant artwork, began working with art as therapy for mentally ill patients. Wolfli is considered one of the first artists in the art brut or outsider art movement. He lived from 1864 – 1930. The art on this shoe is a detail from Wolfli’s work “Waldau.”
